Academic Foundation Courses Every Morning

Ratios of just 12-15 students per certified-teacher
for every student, every day.

Foundation Courses will ensure an intensive college-readiness curriculum for every student in English, math, natural sciences and social studies.

All Foundation Courses will be team taught with ratios of just 10-12 students per certified teacher. Every student will benefit from small-group instruction daily. Our unique staffing structure will provide content expertise for every student, every day. Scheduled in daily 84-minute blocks, they will combine standards-based skills development with authentic curricula and inquiries. Each daily session can include skills practice, whole-class lecture or presentation, break-out sessions, technology-aided study and independent work.

Our small, flexible, teacher-led groups allow for important learning experiences, continuous assessments that drive daily instruction, and comprehensive remediation and enrichment. Teachers with Special Education and ELL credentials will support instruction in the Foundation Courses, eliminating tracking and preparing students of all types to excel and perform well on standardized tests. We are developing and authentic curriculum that contextualizes students’ learning and connects school with their lives beyond.
